Summer in the White Mountains and Lakes Region of New Hampshire is the most welcome season! After a long snowy winter , green grass is welcomed by the native residents and summer vacationers. Towns like Wolfeboro have ice out contests for guessing when the ice will be out on Winnipesaukee.

Early education in the towns of Effingham, Ossipee, Tuftonboro and Wolfeboro begins in their hometown elementary schools. All the elementary schools are part of the Governor Wentworth School District, also known as SAU 49.
